A New Option for Spicier Treatments
If you’ve had Halo or Morpheus8 on your wishlist but the “how bad does it hurt?” question keeps coming up, you’re not alone. At NurturHer, we’re all about big results and a better experience getting there, which is why we’re excited to offer Journavx as a pre-treatment pain management option for select patients undergoing more intensive resurfacing and tightening treatments.
This is not about “toughing it out.” It’s about smart preparation so you can focus on your results, not the nerves.
What is Journavx?
Journavx (suzetrigine) is an FDA-approved, first-in-class, non-opioid oral medication indicated for moderate to severe acute pain in adults. It works by targeting a pain-signaling pathway involving sodium channels in the peripheral nervous system, helping reduce pain signals before they reach the brain.
In other words: it’s a different approach than opioids, and it’s a meaningful new tool in the acute pain space.
Why this matters for laser treatments?
Some of our most effective treatments are also the ones people feel most nervous about, especially resurfacing lasers (like Halo) and deeper tightening treatments (like Morpheus8). Comfort can be a real barrier to booking and staying consistent.
Adding Journavx as a pre-treatment option can be helpful for patients who:
Feel anxious about discomfort
Want a more supported treatment-day plan
Are choosing a more intensive session and want the experience to feel more manageable
We’ll always tailor this to the individual. Not everyone needs it, and not everyone is a candidate.
Does this make laser treatments painless?
Journavx is not a promise of zero discomfort. What we can say is that it’s an FDA-approved option for acute pain in adults, and in clinical studies it was evaluated in acute pain settings (post-procedure pain) like abdominoplasty and bunionectomy.
In our clinic, we’re using it as part of a comfort forward plan for select, more intensive aesthetic treatments.
Who is a good candidate?
That’s exactly why we do a consult. We’ll review:
Your medical history and current medications
Your planned treatment and expected intensity
Your comfort level and past experiences with procedures
The NurturHer approach
We love regenerative outcomes, big laser results, and real transformations, but we’re not into white-knuckling the process. If Journavx makes sense for you, it can be part of an intentional, personalized plan for treatment day comfort.
If you’ve been putting off Halo or Morpheus8 because of fear around discomfort, let’s talk. Your plan should feel powerful and doable.
Book a consult and we’ll walk you through your options, including whether Journavx is appropriate for your treatment day.
